The multi-hole version of QPatch 16, the QPatch 16X is now available. The QPatch 16X has all the well-known benefits of QPatch 16, and in addition the QPatch 16X can run multi-hole patch clamp experiments. The QPatch 16X also works in single-hole mode like a traditional QPatch 16 - the actual mode of operation depends on whether the system is loaded with traditional single-hole QPlates or the new multi-hole QPlates.

The multi-hole technology is especially suited for ion channels with low conductance and/or cell lines with a large heterogeneity of ion channel expression levels, such as cell lines with transiently transfected ion channels. The multi-hole technology provides nearly 100% success rate and therefore the highest possible throughput and the lowest possible price per data point.
Existing QPatch HT and QPatch 16 systems are on-site upgradeable to the new multi-hole technology.
