Title
QPatch: towards High Throughput Electrophysiology in voltage and ligand-gated Ion Channel Drug Screening
Abstract
Through the introduction of parallel operation and extensive automation the QPatch technology allows whole-cell patch-clamp drug screening with throughputs that range in hundreds of tests per day. In the basic system, QPatch 16, sixteen individual patch-clamp sites are operated simultaneously. Each site is served by its own amplifier with specifications similar to standard patch-clamp amplifiers. The system is applicable to all types of ion channels, and recordings from voltage-gated as well as ligand-gated ion channels expressed in CHO or HEK cells will be presented and discussed.
